Well, punters, I didn't win...

... I didn't even make it to the second round of judging in either of the two categories I entered in. The Australian Model Expo 2017 was a washout for me.

I went there today (Monday) for the first time since entering my models on Friday night, and I have to be honest, I was quietly hopeful. I didn't expect to win, but I was hoping for a 2nd, 3rd or a Commended.

Went straight to where my entries were, and saw that they hadn't placed at all.

No little sticker on this...

No little sticker on this one either.
Plus some later entrants pushed it to the back of the table where it was harder to see.  Harrumph! Not cool.

I am disappointed, but it's really important to me that sour grapes or poor sportsmanship don't enter into my discussion, so I'm going to sleep on it tonight, and then discuss it more here tomorrow.

I will say now that each of the two entries which won in my two categories were real showstoppers - without a shadow of a doubt, they did deserve to win. The 2nd, 3rd and Commended results were a little less certain in my eyes.

Anyway, that's all for now. More tomorrow.

Dave

As My mate and I have a few times before his was the star wars endor diorama all with l.e.ds, There only 5 in his catergory and he scratch bult the landing platform and built 5 complete model kits for the diorama he did not even get a commendation. Yet.... enough said. Lol Will Tatnell

  2. I remember the Endor landing platform, it was pretty cool. I'm going to judge this year, and see what it's like from the other side of the experience. Will let you know. Dave
